Mothers Day Cake

This week I ordered a parrot tulip cutter by James Rosselle from Amazon.com. I have not taken any classes on sugar flowers but after making this cake would love to! I was thinking about taking either the wilton gumpaste flower class at JoAnne's craft store or one of the sugar flower classes on Craftsy.com This is what I came up with on my own with the petal cutter. I use a wilton silicone mold for my accents and brushed gold petal dust on the large flower petals and in the centers of the small flowers. I took it over to my step-mom's for mothers day.

The parrot tulip cutter!

Forming the flower in a soup bowl lined with plastic wrap... fancy right? I don't have any flower former tools.
